DR.COX®

Toltrazuril (DR. COX) is a triazinon drug that has broad-spectrum anticoccidial and anti-protozoal activity. It is active against both sexual and asexual stages of coccidia by inhibiting nuclear division of schizonts and microgamonts and the wall-forming bodies of macrogamonts. Toltrazuril is the parent compound to ponazuril (toltrazuril sulfone). Its mechanism of action is not well understood, but it appears to inhibit protozoal enzyme systems. Toltrazuril has activity against Hepatozoon, Isospora, Sarcocystis, Toxoplasma, and all intracellular stages of coccidia.
